Abstract (en)
In a process for the production of colored relief patterns on ceramics, the pattern formed on an unglazed, unfired or biscuit-fired ceramic article by printing with thermoplastic or UV-hardening pigment paste(s) is overprinted with a hydrophobic organic material before applying an aqueous glaze and firing the article. A process for the production of a colored ceramic pattern with a relief structure, by (a) applying a single- or multi-colored pattern to an unglazed, unfired or semi-fired ceramic article by direct or indirect printing with thermoplastic or UV-hardening ceramic pigment paste(s), (b) hardening by irradiation with UV (if applicable), (c) applying an aqueous glaze and (d) firing at a suitable temperature for the article, the pigment(s) and the glaze. In this process, the colored pattern formed in (a) is partly or completely overprinted with a hydrophobic organic material (HOM) before glazing (c). An Independent claim is also included for ceramic articles with a colored pattern with a relief structure, obtained by this process.

Die Erfindung richtet sich auf ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines farbigen keramischen Dekors mit Reliefstruktur. Das Verfahren umfaßt das Aufbringen eines Dekors unter Verwendung einer thermoplastischen oder UV-härtenden keramischen Farbpaste und ein nachfolgendes Glasieren. Erfindungsgemäß wird vor dem Glasieren das Dekorbild teilweise oder vollständig mit einem hydrophoben organischen Material, wie einem Polyethylenwachs oder natürlichen Wachs, bedruckt. An den bedruckten Stellen zieht sich die Glasur zurück, woraus eine Reliefstruktur und ein klares Dekorbild resultieren.
