Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1000858A1] The method involves making a foil covering from a shrinking foil tube (8,20) that is gripped, opened and gathered by a gripper device (10,11). The foil tube is pulled over the object (1) to be packaged and simultaneously shrunk onto the object. The foil tube is shrunk onto the object using a heater (17) by delivering heat above the gripper. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for packaging an object using the method.
