The door has a locking mechanism comprising a keeper (24) fixed to the door (21), which is hinged to the drum, a catch (25) and a tumbler (26) fastened mechanically to the drum (23) so they have a degree of rotary freedom, and release mechanism (29, 291). The catch is released from the keeper when the tumbler is rotated by the release mechanism, which is in the form of an electromagnet (29) with its tip (291) moving into the drum when fed with a current at the end of the washing/drying cycle.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de fermeture et d'ouverture du tambour d'une machine à laver ou à sécher le linge à chargement par le dessus. Le dispositif comporte un battant (21) pivotant par rapport au tambour (23) par une charnière, une gâche (24) solidaire mécaniquement du battant (21), un pêne (25) et une gâchette (26) solidaires mécaniquement du tambour (23) avec un degré de liberté en rotation, et des moyens de déverrouillage (29, 291), le battant (21) étant maintenu en position fermée par l'engagement du pêne (25) dans la gâche (24), le pêne (25) et la gâchette (26) coopérant de telle sorte que la gâchette bloque le pêne dans la gâche sous l'effet du ressort de rappel du pêne qui maintient ce denier en appui contre la gâchette, et de telle sorte que la rotation de la gâchette (26) provoquée par les moyens de déverrouillage (29, 291) libère le pêne de la gâche. L'invention s'applique aussi bien aux machines à laver ou à sécher qu'aux machines qui lavent et qui sèchent à la fois. <IMAGE>
