Abstract (en)
The sensor (5) monitors steam from cooking pots and has a system-specific resonant frequency. An electronic monitoring circuit is provided, which sweeps the frequency band of the ultrasound transmitter (5a) signal in the area around the resonant frequency from both sides in predetermined intervals during the sensor operation. The circuit measures the maximum amplitude of the transmitter signal, to form an average frequency. The average frequency is taken to be the resonant frequency until the next time it is measured and amended.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen Ultraschall-Sensor für eine Dunstabzugshaube, wobei der Sensor den vom Kochgut zur Dunstabzugshaube aufsteigenden Wrasen überwacht. Es erfolgt ein automatischer Abgleich der Temperatur- und Alterungsdrift des Sensors. Zu diesem Zwecke wird zyklisch während des laufenden Betriebs des Sensors eine Überprüfung der Resonanzfrequenz vorgenommen, wobei deren Verschiebung erkannt, durch ein statistisches Berechnungsverfahren die neue Resonanzfrequenz festgestellt und für den weiteren Betrieb des Sensors verwendet wird. <IMAGE>
