Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9908405A1] The invention relates to a device for receiving a send signal and for sending an optical beam with an adjustable intensity, whereby the optical beam generates the send signal. The device comprises a transmitter (3) to transmit the beam, comprising a control element (4) used to regulate intensity; a receiver (5) to receive the send signal, comprising an analyzer (6) to produce a threshold signal if the intensity of the threshold signal exceeds a given limit; and a transmitter (7) which generates a start signal so that the send signal can be started. The device also has a control unit (8) connected to the analyzer (6), transmitter (7) and the control element (4). Once the start signal has been received from the transmitter in the control element (4), said control unit regulates intensity to a value which continuously increases from zero until the analyzer transmits a threshold signal, leaving the control element (4) unchanged until a new start signal is received. The inventive device is especially used in conjunction with a measuring device configured as a transceiver (13) in an electric power distribution network.
