[origin: WO9908489A1] The invention relates to a method for stabilizing the current of a series circuit of lighting installations at airports and similar, thus enabling a transfer of the control and regulating electronic systems of a constant current regulator. In this method, a current proportional to the series circuit current is detected as an actual value, on the secondary side of a supply transformer (36) which has series-connected transformers (28) in secondary circuit for supplying the lamps (39). This current is digitally converted and sent to a regulating unit. Here, a value is determined for controlling the thyristor controller (35), which is mounted on the primary side of the supply transformer (36), and which is used to regulate the secondary current of the series circuit. The invention furthermore relates to a device for implementing this method.
