Abstract (en)

[origin: CA2333675A1] The invention concerns a door or gate closure, comprising substantially rectangular closure elements (2) superposed horizontally and parallel, movin g relative to one other by overlap. The closure elements (2) are driven such that the second closure element (2) moves at a speed double that of the firs t, and the third element moves three times faster than the first, and the last element moves at a speed corresponding to the speed of the first element (2) multiplied by the number of closure elements (2). Thus, when the gate is opened or closed, only the closure element (2) located the lowest moves over the whole height with maximum speed, whereas the remaining closure elements (2) must move at a proportionally slower speed over proportionally shorter distances, thereby globally resulting in a favourable energy balance for opening or closing with such a gate closure system.
