[origin: WO9907995A1] The primary voltage shape of the ignition voltage (Upr) is converted into an analog current (I1) via a first regulating switch (4) whose output voltage (Vo) is compared with a first reference voltage (V1) in a first comparator (5). In a second comparator (6), the output voltage (Vo) is compared with a second reference voltage (V2). At the output of the first comparator (5), a diagnostic signal (IGBT-Diag) can be picked up for the ignition switch (3); and at the output of the second comparator (6), a measuring signal (IGN-Diag) can be picked up for the combustion period.
