[origin: WO9908120A1] According to the inventive method, two polarised light signals (L1, L2) are sent in opposite directions by a sensor device (1) indicating the Faraday effect. In order to minimise the influence of the light components reflected on the light path (14,24,14',24'), one light signal (L1) is transmitted on a wavelength ( lambda 1) and the other (L2) is transmitted on another wavelength ( lambda 2). The inventive method can be used in vibration compensated magneto optic current transformers to avoid the influence of retroreflections on the measuring signal (M).
