[origin: EP1004374A1] Thixotropic alloy die casting process, employs a processing chamber (4) equipped with a dosing piston (7) between a melt container (1) and a casting chamber (5). A thixotropic alloy die casting process comprises dosing a predetermined melt volume to a casting chamber (5) with a casting piston (8) and a casting die (14), granulating the primary crystals formed in the melt and subjecting the melt volume to cooling, mixing in an electromagnetic field (10) and injection in a semi-solidified state. During dosing, the casting chamber remains docked to the die and dosing is carried out by filling a processing chamber (4) connected by a melt feed line (2) and a casting passage (3) with a melt container (1) and the casting chamber through a casting passage (6) and which is provided with a dosing piston (7).
