[origin: DE19850847A1] The escalator step has a step body (1) with a fitted edge bar (2) which covers the tread at least at one edge of the step. The edge bar (2) is held in place by a snap lock at the step body (1). The snap lock action is through a clip at the edge bar (2) which engages an opening in the step body (1).
