[origin: EP1004700A2] A sleeve (10) for a cable composed of carrying cords (2,3,5) made of fixed plastic fibers (8), especially polyamide fibers, surrounds at least the carrying cords of the outermost cord layer (6). The sleeve consists of a liquid with UV stabilizing additives and additives which protect against wear and external cable damaging influences.
