A device for silencing extractor hoods and the like comprising a silencing element (3) made of sound-deadening material which is suitable to be associated with a respective intake of the extractor element (2) arranged inside the body (10) of the hood and meant to collect the fumes. The silencing element (3) is shaped like a cap and is provided with an intake which is directed downward in the assembly position. <IMAGE>
