[origin: WO9904082A1] Disclosed is a process for removing stains from a localized area of a fabric, comprising the steps or applying a cleaning composition to said stain, and concurrently or consecutively therewith, applying mechanical action to said stain by means of a cleaning device. During the treatment, the stain is covered with a protective material which minimizes damage to the fabric due to mechanical action of the cleaning device.
