By allowing the spindle shaft 1 to be inserted into or removed from the sleeve 11, the spindle motor 1 can be inserted or removed separately from the rotor 12 of the drive motor M and various inconveniences associated with attachment and detachment of a rotor integrally with a spindle shaft can be eliminated. <IMAGE>
