The heater has at least one microwave radiation source (32) and an associated radiation emitter (52) mounted on a mobile, self-propelled base (12) with an energy supply system for the microwave radiation source. The emitter contains at least one hollow conductor or at least one pair of hollow conductors arranged along the direction of motion and adjacent to each other. Independent claims are also included for an application of the heater to drying linear road markings and for drying and/or softening ground surfaces.

Es wird eine Heizeinrichtung (10) mit mindestens einer Mikrowellen-Strahlenquelle (32) und mit einer Strahlenemissionseinrichtung (52) beschrieben. Die mindestens eine Mikrowellen-Strahlenquelle (32) und die Strahlenemissionseinrichtung (52) sind an einer fahrbaren Basis (12) vorgesehen, um eine gewünschte Mobilität zu erzielen. Demselben Zweck ist es dienlich, wenn an der Basis (12) eine Energieversorgungsanlage (30) für die mindestens eine Mikrowellen-Strahlenquelle (32) vorgesehen ist. <IMAGE>
