[origin: WO9813114A1] In order to validate a bet, a housing identifier and a validating datum representative of a reserve of available game units are stored in a file (MMP) of a main validating device (DVP). When the betting data are introduced by the player in the housing (BO), a restitution information containing these betting data as well as the housing identifier is constituted and this information is restored in sound form to a telephone station (PT). The corresponding telephone signal is then transmitted to a voice server (SV) which restores the data introduced by the player in decrypted form. The game units corresponding to the betting data received are then compared with the reserve of game units, for validating or not validating the bet. Thus there is no transmission of any indication concerning an effective payment for the bet by the telephone line between the housing (BO) and the voice server (SV).
