[origin: WO9835826A1] The cushioning conversion machine includes a forming assembly which converts a stock material into a cushioning product, a feed assembly for feeding stock material from a stock supply through the forming assembly, a controller for controlling operation of the feed assembly to produce a pad of a predetermined length, and a pad-length measuring device. The pad-length measuring device may include a device for measuring the length, weight, radius or height of paper removed or unwound from a supply, or a device for measuring the length or weight of a pad as it is produced.
