Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1714899A1] The cap is used especially for a container with an aperture surrounded by a filler neck (30) with a collar (31). It consists of a disc which covers the aperture and a surrounding skirt (2) which fits over the neck. The inside of the skirt has a series of spring-loaded lugs (5) which are inclined inwards at an angle from a point close to its lower edge. The lugs are pressed against the inside of the skirt when the cap is pushed over the neck of the container aperture and return to their initial positions once the cap is in place, pressing against a sloping under-surface of the collar (31) to lock the cap in place. The cap can be removed after detaching a tear-off strip which runs diametrically across its top disc.
