[origin: DE19736879A1] To have a background lighting for objects (24) which are translucid and thus at least partly bright, including for liquid crystal displays (24) on electronic glasses (12), it is necessary that the surface of said object be bright in as homogeneous a manner as possible in case of a high luminous intensity. This aim can be reached with the invention due to the fact that the light source (34) is of a substantially elongated and linear shape and that its radially irradiated light beams (50) are deflected by a mirror (38) designed as a simply incurvate parabolic surface. Whereas the light source (43) is approximately on the caustic line (42) of the mirror (38), the radially and equiangularly irradiated light beams (50) are reflected by said mirror (38) into parallel and equispaced beams (54).
