An electrical plug-connector in which the plug housing (2) is shaped for receiving the pug contact housings (4) which each receive plug contact elements and are locked into the plug housing (2). The plug housing (2) have several receiving bays (3) arranged adjacent to one another and have receiving openings (5) at the front face of the plug housing (2). The rear wall (10) of the plug housing (2), on the one side, and the rear wall of each plug-contact housing (4), on the other side, has coding elements (27,31) for providing coding between the bays (3) of the plug housing (2). The depth and/or height dimensions of the coding elements are selected so that the latching of plug contact housing (4) in a receiving bay (3) is only possible when the coding of the receiving bay (3) is in agreement with the coding of the plug- contact housing (4) being received therein.

Elektrischer Steckverbinder bei dem das Steckergehäuse (2) für die Aufnahme von Steckkontakt-Gehäusen (4) gestaltet ist, die jeweils mehrere Steckkontakt-Elemente in sich aufnehmen und im Steckergehäuse (2) verrastbar sind, bei dem für eine Kodierung zwischen den Aufnahmeschächten (3) des Steckergehäuses (2) und den Steckkontakt-Gehäusen (4) einerseits die Rückwand (10) des Steckergehäuses (2) im Bereich jedes Aufnahmeschachtes (3) und andererseits die Rückwand (45) jedes Steckkontakt-Gehäuses (4) Kodier-Elemente (27, 31) in Form von Vertiefungen und Erhöhungen aufweist, und bei dem die Tiefen- und/oder Höhen-Abmessungen der paarweise ineinander greifenden Kodier-Elemente (27, 31) so gewählt ist, daß die Verrastung eines Steckkontakt-Gehäuses (4) in einem Aufnahmeschacht (3) des Steckergehäuses (2) nur dann möglich ist, wenn die Kodierung des Aufnahmeschachtes (3) mit der Kodierung des hierin aufzunehmenden Steckkontakt-Gehäuses (4) übereinstimmt. <IMAGE>
