[origin: DE19705945A1] The invention relates to equipment for straightening and strain-hardening of coiled steel wire material, in particular for the manufacture of concrete reinforcing steel mat. It comprises a stretching device (5) incorporating a clamping device (6) on the entry side which can be moved back and forth cyclically with an adjustable stroke (9) and a fixed clamping device (7) on the exit side. The wire (8) can be cyclically pulled out of the stretching device (5) and fed into a working device (11) such as a grid welding machine by virtue of a conveying device (10) located downstream from the stretching device (5). Thus, the static wire (8) can be worked at the same time as the stretching process is taking place.
