[origin: WO9853967A1] Filamentary fastener (11) and method of making the same. According to one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of (a) providing a length of stretched flexible filamentary material (13), (b) insert molding a cross-bar (15) onto the length of stretched flexible filamentary material (13), (c) insert molding a paddle (17) onto the length of stretched flexible filamentary material (13), the paddle (17) being spaced apart from the cross-bar (15), and (d) removing any stretched flexible filamentary material not located between the paddle (17) and the cross-bar (15) and the paddle (17) may or may not be made of the same material as the stretched flexible filamentary material (13). Preferably, the stretched flexible filamentary material (13) is made of a plastic, such as propylene, nylon, urethane and combinations thereof.
