Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9911867A1] A connecting structure for building elements subject to expansion and/or shrinking has an elastic connecting layer (5) the top region of which is free of metallic parts and provided with flexible reinforcing means (7) secured to the building elements (1-4) for receiving and distributing any deformation forces. In addition, the building elements have each a foundation (1) and a top layer (2, 3, 4). The foundations (1) are spaced apart and are not covered by the top layer (2, 3, 4) in a marginal area. The connecting layer (5) is arranged between the top layers (2, 3, 4), overlapping the foundations (1), so that its surface, together with the surface of the top layers (2, 3, 4), forms a substantially continuous surface free of metallic parts. A ground plate (8) which partially overlaps the foundations (1) is arranged below the connecting layer (5), is fixed to one of the two foundations (1) and slidingly connected to the second foundation. This allows a clearance-free connection, without any exposed metallic parts, and a reliable fixation to the building element. The ground plate, which is slidingly supported on one side, effectively absorbs high friction forces. The road joint formed with the connecting structure has no exposed metallic parts, ensuring also in the long term an extremely low noise level.
