[origin: DE19830051C1] The balancer (1) has pivots (2, 3) at both ends fixed in axially positioned bores (4). Two eccentrically shaped weights (5, 6) are positioned diagonally opposite each other alongside the rotation axis and within a cylindrical case (7). One of the pivots (2) is connected to the drive (8). The relation between the shape, the length, and the position of the weights facilitates optimal compensation of the forces acting on the moving parts of the reciprocating engine.
