[origin: WO9848389A2] The invention relates to a method for mutual authentication between two units that communicate with each other. An encrypted message sent from unit A to unit B is transmitted along with a key differing from the one used to encrypt the message from unit A. Unit B then encrypts the message addressed to unit A using the key received from unit A, on the basis of which unit B is authenticated by unit A.
