[origin: FR2770013A1] A spare pair of wires (P1,P2) in the cabling between the network hub (7) and each networked device (1) are terminated at the device with an interface connector (9) containing a resistance of known value. These terminations are constantly measured by a central acquisition system (11). If any termination falls outside a predetermined window of values then the acquisition system notifies a security computer (4) and a warning message is displayed on the computer screen (E).
