The separating device has a knife (5) running diagonally at an angle of 1-45 degrees to the paper web axis, to which the horizontal paper web (4) is supplied. Alternatively, the knife may be horizontal and the paper supplied to it at the specified angle. The knife may be angled in combination diagonally to the web axis and the running direction, or diagonally to the web axis and at a right angle to the running direction, or vice versa.

Eine Vorrichtung (1) zum Durchtrennen einer laufenden Warenbahn (2) weist zwei einander gegenüberliegende Balken (4, 7) auf. Der Balken (7) ist mittels eines Stellantriebs gegen den stationär gehaltenen Balken (4) verstellbar, wobei letzterer ein die Warenbahn (2) quer übergreifendes Messer (6) aufweist. Der verstellbare Balken (7) schließt mit dem Messer (6) zumindest am Beginn des Schneidvorgangs einen spitzen Winkel (α) ein, um die auf das Messer (6) wirkende Schneidkraft zu reduzieren. <IMAGE>
