Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1010654A2] The paper roll (1) is wound on a tubular sleeve (3) and carried on a palette (2), which has a frame (4) and a lifting device (5). A vertically moveable carriage (9) on the lifting device holds a shaft (6), which passes through the sleeve of a roll to be carried. The rolls are lifted off the palette in vertical direction. The palette has one or more fold-down access ramps (16). The lifting device has a hydraulic or pneumatic lifting drive, and the palette frame carries a motor to generate a torque.
