[origin: EP1010655A1] The roll winder (1) has a number of winding positions in two winding position groups (4,5) at two longitudinal sides of a contact roller (2). A longitudinal transport system (15) gives a winding sleeve (16) feed. The winding sleeve feed has a sleeve displacement with two carrier assemblies (20,21), extending along the axial length of the contact roller (2). Each is mounted to a holder arm (22,23), which pivots round the center axis (14) of the contact roller (2).
