Abstract (en)
The tunnelling machine, consisting of rear and front (3) shields connected by floating joints, and a front shield cutting face (4) in the form of a circular plate (5) with cutters (7). The machine has at least one power cylinder (20) set parallel to its lengthwise axis and comprising a fixed section (21) on the machine and a moving section (22) which can be moved between a retracted position and an active position in which it makes contact with the working rock face and allows the front shield and cutting face to be retracted independently of the rear shield.

L'invention a pour objet une machine de creusement d'un tunnel, du type comprenant un bouclier arrière (2) et un bouclier avant (3) portant une tête de coupe (4) munie d'outils de travail (7). La machine de creusement comporte au moins un vérin (20) disposé parallèlement à l'axe longitudinal de ladite machine et comprenant une partie fixe solidaire de cette machine et une partie mobile déplaçable en translation entre une position escamotée et une position active en contact avec le front de taille pour reculer ledit bouclier avant (3) et ladite tête de coupe (4), indépendamment du bouclier arrière (2). <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
