[origin: DE19858398C1] A tinnitus treatment implant comprises a gas-tight biocompatible electroacoustic transducer (15) for implantation in a mastoid cavity. A tinnitus treatment implant comprises a power source (140) and an electronic signal generating unit (105) with a sound emitting transducer in the form of a gas-tight, biocompatible, implantable electroacoustic transducer (15) designed for positioning in a mastoid cavity after at least partial mastoidectomy so that emitted sound propagates through natural passages of the aditus ad antrum from the mastoid to the tympanic cavity.

Implantierbares Gerät zum Behandeln eines Tinnitus, mit einer elektronischen Signalerzeugungseinheit (105) und einer Energiequlle (140) zur energetischen Versorgung. Als schallabgebender Ausgangswandler ist ein hermetisch gasdichter, biokompatibel aufgebauter und implantierbarer elektroakustischer Wandler (15) vorgesehen, der so ausgebildet ist, daß er nach mindestens teilweiser Mastoidektomie in einer Mastoidhöhle derart positionierbar ist, daß der von dem elektroakustischen Wandler abgestrahlte Schall über den natürlichen Zugang des aditus ad antrum vom Mastoid zur Paukenhöhle gelangt. <IMAGE>
