[origin: WO9847526A1] The present invention relates generally to a method of modulating cell growth and more particularly, to a method of modulating prostate cell growth by administering inhibin, an inhibin antagonist or an agent that modulates the expression of inhibin. Even more particularly, the present invention provides a method of treating prostate cancer by inhibiting division of malignant prostate cells. The present invention also relates to a method of screening for a mammal having prostate cancer or a predisposition to prostate cancer.
