Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19739345C1] A tank holds a charge of drink prior to discharge via a filling assembly into bottles or cans. Prior to receipt of the charge, the empty tank is cleaned by the alternating application of foam and liquid which is introduced via two pipes one (2) of large diameter with jets (7) and one of small diameter (3) with jets (8). The pipes are inserted into the tank. The novelty is that: (a) the smaller pipe (3) is integrated within the larger pipe (2) to form a twin-pipe (1); (b) the jets (8) on the smaller pipe (3) are pass through the wall of the larger tube (2) against which they are sealed; (c) the cleaning foam and fluids are delivered to the pipes (2, 3) through a common supply pipe (4) and a two-way valve (5).
