[origin: FR2761558A1] The invention concerns a device adapted to send transmission packets of predetermined length, comprising means for formatting a first type of packets (B1) based on a first preamble (TS1) and a first data sequence (IS1). In order to transmit a second data sequence (IS2) longer than the first (IS1), the formatting means (F) are equally arranged for formatting a second type of packet (B2) based on a second preamble (TS2) shorter than the first (TS1) and the second data sequence (IS2), said means (F) formatting a packet whereof the type is identified by an identification signal (Id). The invention also concerns a device adapted to receive transmission packets compatible with said device.
