[origin: WO9903253A1] A method and an apparatus for allowing participants in a meeting or a conference to make contributions using a mobile telephone, or any other telephone, as a conference microphone are disclosed. The public telephone network is used in connection with a prior art loudspeaker system. A service node is used to connect the telephone network and the loudspeaker system. Participants can also select a channel to listen to on their telephones, for example, to hear a translation of the discussion.
