[origin: DE19811097A1] The simulator simulates a network with a service switching point or SSP, a service control point or SCP and a character generator system umber 7 or SS7 via which the dialogue between the SSP and SCP takes place. The simulator contains a module for simulating any IN-typical sequence of events (traffic simulator) according to traffic theory rules; a module for event-oriented SCP simulation using process models; an inter-module data communications arrangement; an arrangement for entering and storing the network configuration, communications service specifications and other simulation parameters and for passing them to the appropriate modules; and an arrangement for outputting and/or storing the simulated data.
