Regulation of a hydraulic rotary and advance drive, for a tube cold pilger mill stand, comprises regulating the pressurized hydraulic medium supply to each hydraulic motor by a proportional valve which opens for a time proportional to the travel distance of a drive mechanism moved by the motor.
