Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1013884A2] The turbine blade(10) has cooling holes(17) in the blade's shroud element(11) running from the inside outwards and parallel to the direction of the blade's movement. Each cooling hole opens out into a surface recess(14) before the outer edge(25) of the shroud element and open to the outer space around the turbine blade. The recess may be located on the upper side(22) of the shroud element, with the cooling holes running into it at the side, or the recess may be on the side edge of the shroud element.
