[origin: DE19741603A1] The arrangement has a contact housing of one or more parts in which a cable (30), esp. a multi-wire flat strip cable, can be placed and can be contacted by one or more blade contacts (11). When actuated the contacts separate the cable insulation and penetrate into or contact the wires. A gel reservoir (24) subjected to pressure is mounted so that the cable is arranged between the gel reservoir and the blade elements in the state prior to actuation of the blade elements. The blade contacts penetrate the cable in a first actuation stroke and then perforate the gel reservoir in the next actuation stroke. An Independent claim is also included for a method of making a connection to a cable.
