Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1016830A2] Fuel and incoming air (10) are mixed in the combustion chamber of a gas turbine and then burnt. The combustion air flow is then fed to a turbine downstream of the combustion chamber. The chamber has a ring-shaped diffuser (13), in which the air current enters. Downstream of the diffuser and connected to it is at least one ring-shaped toroidal chamber (14). Downstream of the toroidal chamber mixture tubes (22) branch away and are distributed over its periphery. Downstream of the mixture tubes a combustion chamber (18) is arranged, in which the mixture tubes issue. The combustion chamber is formed as a secondary unit. The turbine has a primary combustion chamber, downstream of which is a first turbine (11), a secondary combustion chamber downstream of the first turbine and a second turbine functioning downstream of the secondary combustion chamber.
