Abstract (en)

[origin: FR2768626A1] Use of a beta -adrenergic modulator to obtain an apoptosis-regulating medicament is new. PREFERRED MODULATOR - The beta -adrenergic modulator is a beta 1, beta 2 or beta 3 adrenergic receptor agonist or antagonist. A beta 2 adrenergic receptor agonist is used to inhibit apoptosis of hepatocytes. EXAMPLE - C57BL/6 mice receiving drinking water containing 1.3 mg/l clenbuterol (a specific beta 2-adrenergic receptor) for 18 hours before intra-venous injection with 15 mu g anti-Fas monoclonal antibody Jo2 had a survival time of 200-210 minutes, compared with 150-175 minutes for non-pretreated mice.
