Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9850116A1] A hockey stick (10) is provided with an offset or bend (24) angular to the plane of the face of the blade (14) and positioned to begin substantially at the location where the transition from the heel (20) of the stick (10) to the shaft (12) becomes approximately equal to the cross section of the shaft (12) in its parallel plane. In a preferred form a second bend (26) then makes a rapid transition to the full offset configuration within the dimension of the shaft (12) such that the blade portion (14) trails the plane of the center line axis of the shaft (12) and due to centrifugal force the trailing blade (14) tends to rotate closed thereby cupping the puck by the blade (14) resulting in reduced deflection and easier pass reception.
