Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9915664A1] The present invention provides nucleotide and amino acid sequences that identify and encode a novel expressed insulin-like polypeptide (ILP) from, for example, colon and uterine cells. The present invention also provides for antisense molecules to the nucleotide sequences which encode ILP, expression vectors for the production of purified ILP, antibodies capable of binding specifically to ILP, hybridization probes or oligonucleotides for the detection of ILP-encoding nucleic acid sequences, genetically engineered host cells for the expression of ILP, diagnostic tests for insulin-like activation based on ILP-encoding nucleic acid molecules and antibodies capable of binding specifically to the protein.
