[origin: WO9914441A1] A screw pile anchor (10) has a tubular shaft (11) with a helical screw flyte (20) and a ground engaging bit (12) at its ground engaging end. The stabilizing assembly (30) has a plurality of fins (34 to 37) radiating from collars (31 to 33) rotatably mounted on the shaft (11). A mounting plate (51) of a lighting column assembly (50) can be attached to the fins (34 to 37) via mounting bolts (40). The stabilizing assembly (30), through the provision of the fins (34 to 37) increases the resistance of the shaft (11) to lateral movement, e.g., under wind loads.
