Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9911893A1] The invention relates to a closing device (10) for doors (2) of cases or cabinets (1) preferably constructed out of thin wall material such as sheet metal and especially to the operation of catching systems, such as closing bars (12), which are mountable in the canted area of sheet metal cabinet doors. The closing device (10) is comprised of a door plate (4) having two door plate areas, whereby a first longitudinally extended door plate area (8) has a turning handle (25) for operating and a drift pinion (26) which is rotationally mounted. The second door plate area (3) has a push plate (20) which is mounted in a slidable manner. Said push plate (20) interacts with the drift pinion and the catching system via a catch. The catch reaches through one of the slots in the door (2) covered by the second door plate area. According to the invention, the second door plate area (3) is also longitudinally extended, connected to the first longitudinally extended door plate area (8) as one piece, and shaped in such a way that the extending axis (19) of the second longitudinally extending door plate area (3) is vertical to the extending axis (11) of the first longitudinally extending door plate area (8).
