[origin: FR2782383A1] The device has an interferometer measuring system that includes a Fizeau wedge (18,20) delimited by two fixed, transparent plates slightly inclined to each other. The interferometer system has an optical transformer (12,16) to transform the light beam into a slightly divergent spherical light wave, which illuminates the Fizeau wedge, to eliminate measurement uncertainties resulting from parasitic reflections on the first plate. The light beam passes through the Fizeau wedge along an optical path of fixed length and enters the wedge (18,20) through the first plate. The external face of the first plate is treated with an anti-reflective material. The system has a high resolution detector (30,32), of interference fringes resulting from reflections of the light beam on the two internal faces of the two plates. The detector generates electrical signals corresponding to the interference fringes. An electrical signal processor (72,74,76) calculates the wavelength of the light beam from maximal positions of the electrical signals.
