[origin: EP1020206A2] The training apparatus has a seat (5) with back and seat cushions (6), fixing means for the legs and feet and a rotatable back or shoulder cushion (13, 19) connected to adjustable load means (14) by a flexible connecting belt or cable (11) on which a holding down member acts transversely to the connecting direction and is operated by a mechanical lever (9). The holding down member has at its active end a roller and is preferably connected to the lever by a tie rod.
