The profile (10) has an installation channels (11,12,13,14) with a large width in relation to the outer dimensions of the hollow profile. Four such installation channels are incorporated and their middle longitudinal planes are at right angles to each other. The depths of two opposing installation channels (12,14) are greater than those of the two other opposing installation channels (11,13). The corner areas of the open hollow profile have longitudinally running grooves, preferably back-cut grooves (15,16). In the corner areas of the open hollow profile, one or more centering holes (17) and/or screw channels (18) are provided. The installation channels are closable by a securable cover profile (19).

Ein offenes Hohlprofil (10), welches aus Leichtmetall im Strangpreßverfahren gefertigt wird und insbesondere als Tragprofil für Möbel, Raumteiler und ähnliche Gegenstände verwendbar ist, soll so gestaltet werden, daß dieses vorzugsweise für Möbel und Zubehör als tragendes Konstruktionsteil verwendet werden kann, wobei außer Kabel noch Installationselemente mit gegenüber den Kabeln deutlich größeren AbAbmessungen installiert werden können. Das erfindungsgemäße Hohlprofil (10) ist mit nach außen offenen Installationskanälen (11, 12, 13, 14) versehen, die sich in Längsrichtung erstrecken und deren Breite, bezogen auf die Außenabmessungen des Hohlprofils (10) sehr groß ist. Die Mittellängsebenen der Installationskanäle (11, 12, 13, 14) stehen im rechten Winkel zueinander. Außerdem ist das Hohlprofil so gestaltet, daß die Tiefen von zwei einander gegenüberliegenden Installationskanälen (12, 14) größer sind als die Tiefen der beiden anderen sich gegenüberliegenden Installationskanälen (11, 13). Dabei sind die Installationskanäle (12, 14) mit den größeren Tiefen im Querschnitt quadratisch oder annähernd quadratisch ausgebildet. Der Grundquerschnitt des Hohlprofils (10) ist außerdem doppel-T-förmig. Das offene Hohlprofil ist besonders für Büromöbel geeignet. <IMAGE>
