[origin: EP1022408A2] The cover for the edges of a floor covering has at least one plastics base and a fitted cover (2) as a profiled metal bar. The base (1) has an opening to take a leg of the profile bar (2), as a slit with parallel side walls (3a,4a). At least one slit side wall or a flank of the inserted leg has a sawtooth structure formed by one-piece ribs (10), to give a ratchet lock with each other when in place. The ribs (10) project from the slit side walls (3a,4a) or the leg flank (6a) at an acute angle, for easy insertion and removal.
